System Requirements

The following are system requirements for the Microsoft® Access 97 version. This version is distributed with the run-time version of Microsoft® Access 97. The Access 2002, 2003 & 2007 system requirements will vary slightly.

	Computer/ Processor: Personal or Multimedia computer with a 486 or higher processor. Pentium II - 300 minimum recommended.
	Memory: For Windows 95 or 98 12 MB of memory is required. For Windows NT Workstation 64 MB of memory is required. More memory may be required to run additional applications simultaneously. These ram requirements are the minimum as prescribed by Microsoft® for MSAccess97. The more Ram a Workstation has the faster the application will function. To gain satisfactory performance a minimum of 1GB Ram is recommended (2 GB min for Windows Vista or Windows 7).
	Hard Disk: 35 MB of available hard-disk space required on the workstation. More space will be required for the data file on a server.
	Drive: A CD-ROM is required to install the program. The application may also be installed from a network server.
	Display: VGA or higher-resolution video adapter (Super VGA, 256-color recommended). 800 x 600 minimum screen resolution. 17" + monitor at 1024 x 768 recommended.
	Operating System: Microsoft Windows 95+ operating system, Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 3.51 Service Pack 5 or later (will not run on earlier versions), Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7.
	Supported Networks: Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 & Novell NetWare 3.x & 4.x. Please refer to your particular version of MSOffice for the list of supported networks. A local area network with a dedicated file server is recommended.
	Backup Power Supply: A reliable battery backup power supply and surge protector is required to safeguard not only your computer hardware but is essential in protecting the integrity of the data tables compiled by the Permit Manager. A Backup Power supply must be on the file server and all workstations on which the application will be installed.
	File Backup: A reliable file backup routine scheduled to regularly create backup copies of the compiled data tables is required in the event of a hard disk failure or other unforeseen data corruption or loss. Permit Manager includes a backup utility for creating compressed copies of the compiled data.
	Microsoft® Word 97+ (32bit) is required to take advantage of the integrated office automation features.

	Palm Pilot support requires a Palm Pilot: m100 series, m500 series, III series, V series and VII series with PalmOS® 3.1+, HotSync Manager Version 3.0 on the Desktop and the following Handheld database applications: SmartList To Go Suite (formerly thinkDB2.5 & dbSync). Refer to SmartList To Go at DataViz for system requirements.
	Additional: Permit Manager is available as an MDE file with the required MS Access 97, 2002, 2003 or 2007 Runtime files included. The purchase of MS Access is not required.
