Inspections

Permit Manager allows the user to add, track and schedule any number of inspections related to any permit, violation, property or tenant record. Any number of inspection tasks may be added allowing the user to easily customize the application for a particular need. A list of all pending inspections may be printed for a particular day to aid in inspector scheduling. Reports are also provided for all completed or pending inspections.

All inspections are recorded or edited from the "Inspection List" dialog. With any permit, violation, tenant or property record open, select the "List / Edit Inspections" command to list or add inspection records associated to the particular record.

When a new inspection record has been added but has not been completed (passed, failed or complete) it is has been requested. The inspection request can then be printed. A right mouse click on the permit, violation or property dialog will open the shortcut menu. Select "Inspection Request" to preview the request prior to printing. A copy of the printed request could then be used for recording the conditions of the field inspection.

Complete an inspection by entering the desired inspection, select 'Pass' or 'Fail' (Property & Violation Inspection may be marked as 'Complete'), the inspection date and time, enter the inspectors initials from the drop down list, required fees and comments if desired. Moving from the inspection record will trigger the "Save Inspection prompt".

Inspections may be deleted by highlighting the desired inspection and hitting the delete key on the keyboard. The application prompts the user to prevent an accidental or inadvertent deletion of an inspection.

Permit Manager's Palm Pilot support automatically creates a mobile version of current Inspections to be carried in the field. Schedule your inspections and input them to your Palm Date Book automatically. Input the Inspection results on your Handheld and the Permit Manager data is updated automatically through the Palm HotSync cradle. Currently new inspection records may not be added on the Palm Pilot.
