Permit Manager allows any contact, permit, property, tenant or violation record to have an unlimited number of associated image records. Images are created from and associated with a particular contact, permit, property, tenant or violation record. Images may be of the following formats: *.bmp, *.jpg, *.ras, *.tif.The following CAD formats are also supported: *.dwg (AutoCAD), *.dxf (universal CAD format), *.dng (MicroStation) The image records do not contain the actual image. The FilePath and FileName fields link the image record to the image file. All Images are created or edited from the Image List dialog. The Image List is accessed from the "Main Menu", "Images", "Create / List Images". If the Image list is opened when a contact, permit, property, tenant or violation record is the current active dialog, the list will open with only those images associated with the particular record. Existing records may be opened for editing or new records created which will automatically be associated to the particular record in this mode. If the list is opened when there are no contact, permit, property, tenant or violation records as the active dialog, the list will then contain all image records Existing records may be edited but no new records may be created in this mode. The Image Viewer tools are selected by clicking one of the (9) command buttons on the top left margin of the map. The image tools are as follows: Zoom In: The cursor will change to a magnifying glass when it is on the image. To zoom, select the Zoom In command. The command will change to yellow. Then place the cursor on the image, click the left mouse button, hold and drag the cursor across the image. The cursor will draw a rubber band box across the image and when the mouse button is released the image will zoom to the area of the rubber band rectangle. Zoom Out: Click the Zoom Out command and the image will zoom out by a factor of 2. If the "Zoom In" command is active, a right mouse click on the image window will also zoom out. Pan: The cursor will change to a hand when it is on the image. To pan, select the Pan command. The command will change to yellow. Place the cursor on the image, click the left mouse button and drag the cursor the direction you wish to move to, release the mouse button to finish the move. Full Extent: Choose the Full Extent command to restore the image to the original state. Label CAD: Choose the Label CAD command to add the text portion of a CAD file to the image. A dialog box opens prompting the user to input a field name to label on the image (TEXT). An additional prompt asks for the size of the labels in image units (generally feet). This function must be executed each time a CAD image is opened. Print: The "Pint image" function prints the current image window to the default printer. Copy: This function copies the current image window to the Clipboard in an enhanced metafile format. An additional prompt will ask for the desired scale factor for output resolution. A factor of (1) represents the same number of pixels in the output metafile as the current screen image. A factor of (3) represents 3 times the number of pixels in the output metafile as the current screen image. The copied image may then be pasted into a Word or other document. These pasted images can be quite large and it is recommended that they first be pasted into an image editing application to have the number of displayed colors reduced (the default is 16 million but in most cases this may be reduced to 16 or 256) prior to pasting them into a Word document. Some experimentation will be required to find the proper combination for the user's particular purpose. Save As: This function saves the current image to a different location or name. The image extension and format is preserved. Image records may be deleted from the image viewer dialog. The user is prompted to confirm the delete and is also prompted with the option to delete the actual image file associated with the record. Copyright 2001-2010 CS-Graphx... www.cs-graphx.com |
