Permit Manager allows any permit, violation or property may have any number of associated documents. Document records are created from and associated with a particular contact, permit, property, tenant or violation record. Documents may be any format. Permit Manager is able to save any of it's permits, letters or reports in *.rtf or *.snp format. The ability to view or edit a document record will be determined by the registered file / program type on the specific user's PC. The document records do not contain the
actual document. The FilePath and FileName fields link the document record to
the document file. All document records are created or edited from the Document List dialog. The Document List is accessed from the "Main Menu", “Documents", "List/ Create Linked Documents". A permit, property or violation record must be open to view the list of associated document records. New documents records may created when either a permit, violation or property record is the currently active record. Choose the "Main Menu", "Documents", "List / Create Linked Documents" command. The Document List will open with all associated records listed. The "New" command will be available in this mode. Select the "New" command to create a new document record. The Document record dialog will open as a blank record and the common dialog box file manager will then automatically open. Log to the drive and directory where the document you wish to use is located. Select the document file by double clicking or highlighting and selecting "Open". The selected documents file name & path will automatically input in the proper fields. Enter a "Title" for the document and a brief "Description" if desired. The date is automatically input as the system date but may be overwritten. When a new document record is saved it will create a copy of the original document in the “Docs” subdirectory in the directory where the Permit Manager data files reside. The copy will also be automatically renamed based on the record number. Document records may be viewed by selecting the desired document record from the Document List. Highlight the record and select “Edit” or double click the record. The document record will open. Select the “Open” command button to open the document with the registered program for the specific file type on the user PC. Copyright 2001-2010 CS-Graphx... www.cs-graphx.com |
