Properties

Comprehensive property information is stored in the Property Table. All Permits are linked to a particular property. The current and all previous owners of a property are also linked to the particular property. The physical description of the property consists of the following fields:

bullet Subdivision, (required) This field groups properties which share a common location characteristic. The default subdivision is an "Individual Lot". Major roads may be utilized as a subdivision.
bullet Section, (optional). 
bullet Block, (optional)  
bullet Lot, (required) This field must be unique in any like combination of the proceeding (3) fields. On "Individual Lots" it may be useful to place the Tax ID number in this field in addition to placing the ID in the "Tax Number" field. The program will prompt you if you enter a duplicate "Subdivision, Section, Block, Lot" combination.
bullet Street No, (optional)
bullet Unit No, (optional)
bullet Street, (optional).
bullet Tax Number, (Optional) This field must be unique. The program will prompt you if you enter a duplicate Tax number. This field must be filled to include a property in the search by Tax ID function with Parcel Map.
bullet Zoning District, (optional).
bullet Flood District, (optional).
bullet Deed Owner, (required).
bullet Resident, (optional). 

All permits for a particular property are listed on the Permits tab on the property dialog. All new permits are also created from the property dialog. This feature allows a new permit to automatically input the property and deed owner information.

When the deed owner of a property is changed a list of the previous owners is automatically compiled and listed on the Previous Owner tab of the property dialog. The date when the owner changed is input by the user. 

A property may be deleted if it has no permits linked to it. The user is prompted by the application to prevent an inadvertent deletion.

Finding a Property

A particular Property is accessed or found by the following methods:

bullet Main Menu - Property - Search by Tax ID
bullet Main Menu - Property - Properties by Subdivision List, including searching by Lot, Street Number, Street, etc.
bullet Main Menu - Contacts - Owner List - Property List
